Isotropic Fiction
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
As of July 8, 2014, Isotropic Fiction has entered an indefinite hiatus. All submissions are now closed. Please do not submit anything here, or e-mail the editor. Your submission will be returned unread.
Note: If a submission does not adhere to the following guidelines it will be deleted unread.
We do not publish realism. If your story does not contain a clear speculative element (sci-fi, fantasy, the uncanny, the supernatural, etc), then it will be disqualified and returned. This bears repeating because we have received a significant amount of well-written, interesting pieces of realism that we have to turn away.
Manuscript format: If you haven't already, study manuscript formatting as outlined by William Shunn. This is an industry standard.
Longer works (novelette/novella/novel): Send a brief (200 word max) synopsis in the cover letter and submit only the first 8,000 words of the work. If we like your project, we'll ask that you to send us the whole thing.
Cover letter: Include your name, the submission title, word count, and publication history (limit it to your top 5, please). Any relevant life experience with the subject matter in your story is also worth noting.
Send stories in .doc or .rtf only.
